Where I Stand On Key Issues?
-
Preventing Homelessness
In order to make sure people are able to live and thrive in Montgomery County, we must make our county affordable through Affordable Housing, Creating More Inclusive Zones, Increasing Pay Wages for families and loved ones to be able to have a stable source of income to pay for their choice of living.
As someone who has faced Homelessness with my family, I have made it my life’s mission and goal to make sure that we reduce the amount of people who end up homeless in our state and our county as a whole.
“Criminalizing Homelessness” is “Unconstitutional.” It violates our 8th Amendment of the United States Constitution’s prohibition of cruel and unusual punishment, especially when our current Presidential Administration wants to punish homeless people for an issue that they cannot avoid due to a lack of alternative options.
What we need to be able to do in terms of the issue of Homelessness and preventing more people becoming Homeless in our county and country, we must be able to build Affordable Housing in less crowded areas of Montgomery County and really make the complexes “affordable.”

Protecting Our Education
Our kids are the future. Our children and young adults deserve to have a sustainable form of learning within our educational system. We must fight to protect our Department of Education for their vital work that they do for our communities.
To protect our education, we must ensure every child and family has Universal Access to gain access to the level of education they wish to aspire too. We must eliminate the barriers that our current educational system shows, which include: Transportation Issues, School Fees, Language Obstacles, and Digital Divides.
Not only this, we NEED and MUST Invest in our Teachers and Staff Members of our Schools, by providing them with fair compensation for the work they provide for our families children in Montgomery County and Provide Classroom Support, with being able to reduce class sizes and increase access to teaching aides and counselors.

Ending Gun Violence
The American people deserve the right to live free from Gun Violence in our country. We must also work to end Gun Violence in our county by fighting to pass Universal Background Checks by closing loopholes in private sales and gun shows; Ensuring the Strength of Our Red Flag Laws in our State by keeping firearms out of the hands of convicted domestic abusers and those deemed harmful to others and themselves; Enforcing a Mandatory Waiting Period that makes suicide attempts not able to happen quickly or easy obtainment for suspected mass shooters to gain access to a firearm; and Ban Assault Weapons and High-Capacity Magazines that are meant to commit mass harm to people in our communities.
-
Affordable Healthcare
We need Universal Healthcare for everyone because our Health is our Wealth, regardless of income, employment, or immigration status. We need to keep Medicaid and Medicare a priority for members of our community that need these insurances to survive and receive treatment without worrying the burden of a cost of a medical bill.
The time to lower the cost of prescription drugs has arrived. Paying over $100+ for medication drugs is no longer acceptable and we must ensure that insurances cover the vast majority of the cost of a medication people need to survive.
The time for Mental Health Support has come. In uncertain times, we need to have support that reassures people that things are going to be alright.

Protecting Survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
As a survivor of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, I know firsthand how hard it is to leave an abusive relationship with your life. I will make sure to fight for survivors every single day by:
Ensuring an Immediate Way to Get to Safety and Shelter, through excess funding for shelters and organizations that provide meaningful work for survivors in need of help;
Legal Protection and Justice: Make it easy to get restraining orders against abusers and keep them held in - place and effective with swift help from law enforcement officials and Provide Legal Aid, which include free or low-cost legal representation for family court, immigration issues, and housing and more.
-
Immigration
As a daughter of immigrant parents who came to this country for a better life through education, and military service, the issue of Immigration is highly important to me, when it is being talked about in the news every single day in our country.
America is a country where everyone deserves to be able to come and experience their own version of the “American Dream.”
America was not made for only a “select few.” America was made for everyone who desired to come here for a better life and provide a better life for their families and loved ones.
We must defend our immigrant community because they are a valuable asset to our county and state. They enable us to be a better place.

End the Gaza-Israel Genocide.
As a Social Justice and Human Rights Activist, Genocides are in no way, shape, or form acceptable. Families, both children and adults, are being bombed every single day because of a war they did not start. How can our country, let alone, our county, be complacent in the videos and tragedies that we are seeing on a daily basis? Our county taxpayers’ money are being utilized to fund this unjust act upon humans and their basic human rights.
Both the Jewish and Palestinian Community, across our country, and our county, are coming together and have been coming together to stand up against this genocide and to release the remaining hostages. Why are we funding America’s Most Inhumane Form of Violence upon a racial and ethnic group that deserve the right to live and grow old?
We must stop the unnecessary funding to the daily bombings of innocent children and families. We need to have and build peace and a long - lasting solution to this Genocide… and that begins with our county and entrusted elected officials.
